The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, has successfully facilitated the safe return of Nigerian refugees from the Republic of Cameroon to Borno State in North Central geopolitical zone.

The returnees, who had spent over 11 years in exile due to insurgency-related displacements, arrived in Pulka town, Gwoza Local Government Area, on January 27, 2026.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Operation HADIN KAI, said the repatriation exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, local vigilante groups, and humanitarian agencies.

“A high-level Borno State Government delegation, led by Engineer Wakilbe, representing Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, welcomed the returnees and provided immediate relief support, including financial assistance, food items, and cash,” Uba said.

The returnees will undergo comprehensive medical screening and receive routine immunization, while efforts are underway to facilitate the return of additional batches of Nigerian refugees.

Operation HADIN KAI remains committed to securing communities and supporting humanitarian initiatives that restore hope and rebuild lives.
