Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya performed this year’s Eid al-Adha prayers with troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Principal Staff Officers of Army Headquarters, officers and soldiers of Theatre Command at the 212 parade ground in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State
Delivering the Eid sermon, the Acting Deputy Director Islamic Affairs 7 Division, Captain Mohammed Babangida prayed for peace and security of the nation according to a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyeam Nwachukwu.
He made supplications to Allah for mercy, guidance and divine protection for the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and all members of the Armed Forces, especially in the ongoing fight against insurgency and other security challenges in the country.
