The Governor of Niger State, North Central Nigeria, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on Muslims to remain law-abiding and practice love and tolerance in their daily lives.
The Governor made the call after joining thousands of worshippers at the Suleja Eid prayer ground to observe the two-unit congregational prayers marking this year’s Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration.
The prayers were led by the Salanke of Zazzau Suleja, Malam Abdullahi Kasim, and were attended by the Emir of Suleja, Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim.

Governor Bago thanked Allah for allowing the state to witness another peaceful Eid celebration and prayed for continued peace and development in Niger State.
He urged Muslims to remain patient, respect one another regardless of religious differences, and continue to practice the values learned during the Ramadan fast.
The Governor also warned those engaging in violence to desist, stressing that security agencies will take firm action against anyone found disturbing the peace.
In his remarks, the Emir of Suleja, Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim, thanked the governor for celebrating Eid with the people of Suleja.
He also urged residents to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress in the state and the country.
The Emir described Governor Bago as a visionary leader and called on the people of Niger State to support his administration in moving the state forward.
