Napoli Coach Heaps Praises On Striker Victor Osimhen
Napoli head coach Luciano Spalletti has praised Victor Osimhen’s abilities as a player, saying he can turn any situation into an opportunity.
Osimhen scored his fifth goal in two pre-season games as Napoli beat Pro Vercelli at the Stadio Comunale. The 22-year-old had scored four goals in Napoli’s thrashing of Bassa Anaunia last week. Osimhen has been tipped to light up the Italian Serie A next season with Spalletti in charge of Napoli.
Speaking after the win over Pro Vercelli, Spalletti praised Osimhen’s sharpness in front of goal.
“Osimhen has the ability to change any situation into an opportunity,” Spalletti said in an interview.
“Obviously, this running around and continually making himself available to press, it does have an effect on his sharpness in front of goal and can lead to errors.”
Spalletti and Osimhen are expected to work wonders when the new Serie A season kicks off next month. The Nigerian striker is already showing a glimpse of what he can do in pre-season games ahead of the new season.
Osimhen scored ten league goals for Napoli last season despite missing more than three months of action due to an injury and COVID-19.
But with Spallettin in charge, there’s no limit to what he can achieve next season. Napoli next take a trip to Allianz-Arena to take on Bayern Munich in their next pre-season game.
