The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has welcomed the appointment of Samson Adamu as the Acting General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Samson, son of the Nigerian sports administrator Amos Adamu, is the first Nigerian to become the scribe of CAF since its founding some 70 years ago.
Governor AbdulRazaq in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, said the appointment is a perfect fit, given the appointee’s previous roles in the organisation.
“Samson, a chip off the old block, brings the right pedigree and network to the role, and I am confident that this appointment will make a big difference in African football administration,” the Governor said in a statement.
Governor AbdulRazaq urged all football stakeholders on the continent to support the young administrator in this important role.
