Building synergy between Security Formations through sports – Kano Governor

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state northwestern Nigeria has described sports as a synergy builder between different security formations in the state.
The Governor said this during the opening ceremony of Kano state Military and Para – Military Games tagged “Service Games 2021″ Saturday at Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata.
Governor Ganduje said “there’s no doubt from what I saw during the match pass that the formations are ready for healthy competition.
“We are proud of you and the people of Kano are also proud of you and I also believe this is the beginning of building synergy between different security formations military and para military alike”.
The Governor thanked the Kano state sports commission for living up to expectation by organizing such a competition that will show the youth a way out through sports.
Building strong relationship
Earlier in his address, the chairman Kano state sports commission Ibrahim Galadima said the events were organized to build strong relationship between security formations.
“Kano state sports commission is highly interested in searching and grooming young talents that will be representing the state in any sporting events.
“I’m very optimistic that if our talents under goes rigorous training they will definitely become national assets” Galadima said.
He maintained that sport is an avenue that is capable of bringing harmonious coexistence among Nigerians, thereby making the teeming youths more productive.
The competition will cut across Athletics, Badminton, Basket Ball, Chess and Football. Others include Golf Judo Table Tennis and Volleyball.
The formations registered for the one week event includes: Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC).
Others include Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), Federal Road Safety Corps, Kano State Fire Service, Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Kano Corporate Security, Hisbah and VIO.
Over 618 athletes are going to compete in the one week event which is expected to be end on 7th August, 2021.
