The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, says President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term in office, citing what he described as massive transformation, bold economic reforms, and critical infrastructure projects undertaken by the administration.
Professor Yilwatda stated this during the official submission of President Tinubu’s Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for a second term in Abuja.
According to him, the President has continued to lay the foundation for a projected one-trillion-dollar economy through strategic investments and nationwide infrastructure development.
“Mr President is implementing reforms that many leaders only used as campaign promises for years. We are not merely campaigning; rather, we are making real changes in this country,” Yilwatda said.
He noted that the administration was constructing strategic road networks across the country to improve trade, agriculture, and regional connectivity.
“Some of these roads will support import and export activities for neighbouring countries such as Niger, Chad and Sudan, while also opening up economic corridors across Nigeria,” he stated.
The APC National Chairman also highlighted the ongoing construction of over 1,000 kilometres of roads across parts of Northern Nigeria, describing the projects as vital to agricultural expansion, food production, and job creation.
“That corridor will support irrigation, agriculture and food production, making it one of the largest food production belts in Nigeria for local consumption and export,” he said.
Yilwatda further praised the progress recorded on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project, saying it would significantly improve electricity supply and industrial development in Northern Nigeria.
“The facilities connected to those gas lines will support power plants from Abuja to Kaduna and Kano, easing power challenges and encouraging industrial growth,” he reiterated.
He commended President Tinubu for investing in infrastructure capable of transforming Nigeria’s economy and improving the living conditions of citizens.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed the support of APC governors for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Speaking on behalf of the 31 APC governors, Uzodimma said the governors were united in their decision to support the President for a second term.
“We will continue to market the achievements, reforms and policies of the Tinubu administration because continuity is necessary to sustain the progress already recorded,” he said.
According to him, Nigeria’s economy was previously at a difficult crossroads, with concerns over fiscal instability and uncertainty, but the Tinubu administration had introduced bold reforms that were already yielding results.
“Governors across the country have witnessed increased funding to states and local governments following the reforms. This is a huge success for the nation,” Uzodimma added.
The APC governors and members of the National Working Committee stated that their endorsement of President Tinubu was based on confidence in his leadership, economic reforms, and commitment to national development.
