Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has launched the state’s E-Mobility Initiative with the rollout of electric tricycles assembled in Yola.
Governor Fintiri described the project as a major step toward sustainable transportation, clean energy access and economic development.
Speaking at the launch on Monday in Yola, Fintiri said the initiative marked the beginning of a transformational journey aimed at redefining energy access, transportation and investment opportunities across the state.

The governor recalled that the partnership leading to the initiative began in March 2025 when Adamawa participated in an investor roundtable organised by the Rural Electrification Agency.
According to him, the event created an opportunity for the state government to engage investors and showcase Adamawa’s economic potential.
Fintiri said the engagement led to a strategic partnership with A4&T Group, resulting in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding focused on mini-grids, solar energy solutions and clean mobility infrastructure.
He disclosed that more than 6,000 households across Song, Lamurde, Jada, Fufore, Demsa, Numan, Shelleng and Hong Local Government Areas had already benefited from the deployment of Solar Home Systems under the partnership.
The governor noted that the newly launched electric tricycles were assembled in Adamawa by Sparrow Mobility Ltd, the e-mobility subsidiary of A4&T Group.
He commended the company for establishing an assembly plant in Yola and fulfilling its commitment to commence local production of electric tricycles and motorcycles.
“The vehicles have undergone rigorous testing and are now ready to serve the people of Adamawa,” he said.
Fintiri explained that the initiative was designed to promote a gradual transition to a cleaner and more efficient transportation system, while reducing dependence on fossil fuels and the impact of rising fuel prices.
He added that the company had partnered with financing institutions to provide flexible funding options for operators and individuals interested in acquiring the vehicles.
The governor further said the initiative would include the establishment of charging infrastructure and battery swap stations across the state to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to expanding collaboration with A4&T Group in the areas of solar power plants, mini-grid expansion and reliable energy solutions for businesses and communities.
Fintiri urged residents to embrace the initiative, describing it as a pathway to economic growth, environmental sustainability and inclusive development
“Today, we are not just launching vehicles — we are driving a movement towards sustainability, prosperity and inclusive development,” he said.
