Governor Oborevwori Promises More Jobs Through Infrastructure

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure development and creating more employment opportunities for youths across the state.

The Governor disclosed that more construction projects would be awarded to engineering firm Julius Berger Nigeria Plc as part of efforts to stimulate economic growth and improve livelihoods.

Governor Oborevwori made this known on Monday while addressing construction workers at the company’s project site in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of the state.

He noted that unemployment and economic hardship remain major concerns for many families, stressing the need for deliberate government policies aimed at empowering young people and creating sustainable opportunities.

According to him, many young people are losing hope due to limited opportunities, and he added that government must continue to invest in projects that generate jobs and bring development closer to communities.

The Governor commended workers and contractors handling projects across the state for their dedication and contributions to development, saying genuine efforts towards progress deserve public support.

He further stated that his administration would continue collaborating with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc on major projects designed to improve infrastructure in Warri, Effurun and other parts of Delta State.

Governor Oborevwori disclosed that the reconstruction of the Effurun Roundabout to NPA axis had already been awarded to the company as part of plans to modernise infrastructure within the Warri/Effurun metropolis.

He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing economic reforms aimed at strengthening the nation’s economy, noting that increased revenue allocation to states has supported project execution and prompt salary payments.

The Governor added that the completed Trans Warri–Ode Itsekiri Roads and Bridges project would be inaugurated after the completion of the Ubeji–Ifie Road.

He assured residents that his administration remains focused on completing critical roads, bridges and other essential infrastructure projects that would deliver long-term benefits to the people of the Delta State.

Governor Oborevwori also appreciated workers and residents for their continued support and commitment to the state’s development agenda, while praying for the safety of workers, residents and road users.
