Mamelodi Sundowns Ready To Finish Job Against AS FAR

Mamelodi Sundowns are confident they can complete the job when they take on AS FAR in the second leg of the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League final  in Rabat, Morocco on Sunday.

The South African side hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg in Pretoria last weekend, but will face a fired-up home side in front of a passionate set of supporters.

Sundowns defender, Grant Kekana, said the squad is settled in Morocco and are confident they can complete the task at hand.

“The team is good. Everyone is hyped up,” he said. “We know what’s at stake. And I think mentally we’re in a good place.”

“We’re trying to just fix a few things so that we go there on Sunday, fully prepared, but the boys are up for it.”

Sundowns missed several good chances to extend their advantage in the first leg, but Kekana said that is in the past.

“We would have loved to score as many goals as we could, especially back home. But I think the lads put out a solid shift, and it’s going to be no different this side,” he stressed.

“The only difference is that we’re away from home. But the effort, that determination, the hunger, the will to win is still there from the guys.”

Sundowns fell short in the second leg of last year’s final away at Pyramids FC in Egypt and Kekana highlighted they have learnt from that difficult experience.

“We’re not too focused on what could have been done back then. We’re focused on the future and the present. We don’t want any distractions, any negativity surrounding us, and we want to go into the game as positive as possible,” he concluded.
