Nigeria’s bid to host the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) has continued to gather international momentum, with top global organisations and world leaders indicating strong interest in the landmark event.
The event is expected to place the country at the centre of global communication discourse.
The President and Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Professor Justin Green, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Embassy at the Nigeria House in Prague, Czech Republic.
Prof. Green commended the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for what he described as remarkable progress in preparations for the conference, noting that the event is already attracting significant international attention.

According to him, confirmations from President Bola Tinubu and Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, alongside the involvement of organisations such as the United Nations, World Bank and Interpol, demonstrate growing global confidence in Nigeria’s hosting capacity.
“We are also reaching out to ASEAN and other international bodies because we want this conference to be truly global and inclusive of all continents,” he said.
Prof. Green particularly praised the President of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, for his commitment and leadership in driving preparations for the event.
Tourism Potential
On his part, the Head of Mission at the Nigerian Embassy in Prague, Ambassador Chimezie Ogu, is optimistic that the forum would provide Nigeria with a unique platform to project its cultural heritage, tourism potential and investment opportunities to the world.
He assured participants of the embassy’s support, especially in facilitating visa arrangements for delegates expected from across the globe.
Earlier, Dr. Ike Neliaku reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to host what he described as a historic edition of the WPRF, the first to be held in West Africa. Noting that the event would not only promote responsible communication practice globally but also create opportunities for business, networking, knowledge exchange and stronger international partnerships.
The global forum scheduled to be held in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, from November 15 to 21, 2026, aimed to enhance Nigeria’s global reputation and open new windows for foreign direct investment and economic engagement.
