Eid al-Adha: Ports Police Command Tightens Security

The Ports Authority Police (western) Command, Lagos has deployed officers across seaports, terminals, jetties, waterways, and other critical maritime infrastructure to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration 

The deployments will help to strengthen surveillance, enhance visible policing, and safeguards lives and property before, during, and after the festivities.

The Commissioner of Police, Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja on behalf of the command felicitated Muslim faithful and the wider maritime community on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

She urged everyone within the port environment to uphold peace, unity, and mutual respect during the celebration, noting that the festival symbolises sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, and love.

“As Nigerians commemorate this important religious festival which symbolizes sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, and love, the Command urges all residents and visitors within the port environment to uphold the values of peace, unity, and mutual respect throughout the celebration period,” Agbaminoja said.

The Commissioner of Police called on port operators, transport unions, and stakeholders to remain security conscious and report any suspicious activity to the nearest port police formation.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, ensuring safety along port corridors, and supporting Nigeria’s maritime economy.
