Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has congratulated Muslims in Kano State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-Al-Adha celebration, urging residents to celebrate peacefully and pray for the continued peace and development of the state.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, Governor Yusuf described Eid-Al-Adha as a sacred period that reflects the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, patience and compassion.

He called on Muslims to embrace and uphold the lessons of the festival in their daily lives by promoting unity, tolerance and mutual respect within society.
The governor also appealed to residents to maintain peace throughout the Sallah festivities and avoid actions capable of disrupting public order.
He urged parents and guardians to caution their children against reckless behaviour during the celebrations, while encouraging youths to remain law-abiding and cooperate fully with security agencies to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
Governor Yusuf further encouraged citizens to use the Eid period to offer prayers for peace, unity and sustained progress in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people and ensuring sustainable development across the state.
He also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as fellow governors across the country on the peaceful Eid celebrations.
Governor Yusuf wished Muslims a successful, peaceful and memorable Eid-Al-Adha celebration.
