NARC Begins Human Resource Management Course for Officers

Nokai Origin, Abuja

The Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) has commenced a five-day Human Resource Management Course for junior and middle-cadre officers aimed at strengthening workforce management and organisational effectiveness.

Representing the Director General of NARC, Major General James Myam (Retired), the Executive Director Consult, Major General Arnold Okoro, said the training was designed to enhance participants’ skills in recruitment, personnel management, workplace communication and conflict resolution.

The course attracted 49 participants drawn from the Armed Forces, security agencies and other government institutions.

Okoro said effective workforce management remained critical to improving productivity and achieving institutional goals, stressing that organisational success depended not only on infrastructure and funding but also on the development and management of personnel.

He noted that the programme would equip participants with practical knowledge in workforce utilisation, team building and leadership, particularly at operational levels where policies are implemented.

Course Coordinator, Brigadier General Ferdinand Eze (Rtd), represented by Mrs Tosin Jumoh, said the training would run from June 1 to 5.

She expressed confidence that the course would strengthen human resource management practices across participating organisations and enhance their operational effectiveness.

The programme forms part of efforts to promote human capital development and improve institutional capacity across the security and public sectors.
