The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has described members of the Tinubu Touchbearers group as persons “entrusted not merely with carrying a message, but with sustaining a vision that is actively reshaping the destiny of our nation.”
Speaking at the inauguration held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, she said the platform provides an opportunity “to spotlight the unprecedented achievements of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Highlighting the role of women in grassroots mobilisation, the Minister declared: “We are the ultimate heartbeat of grassroots mobilisation, the largest voting bloc, and the very foundation of civic stability.”
She stated: “As carriers of hope, it is our hands that will hold the light, our feet that will traverse every ward, and our dedication that will make the definitive victory of 2027 an absolute reality.”

In her welcome address, APC National Women Leader Dr Mary Alile Idele described the inauguration as “yet another significant milestone in our collective commitment to the continued success of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”
She said the Tinubu Torchbearers is “a grassroots-driven movement designed to serve as a dynamic vehicle for mobilisation, advocacy, voter education, and citizen engagement in support of the Renewed Hope vision.”
According to her, the organisation’s presence across the country’s 774 Local Government Areas positions it as “a formidable grassroots network capable of engaging communities, amplifying government achievements, countering misinformation, and mobilising support for the continued success of our party.”
Dr Alile said the group’s objectives include grassroots mobilisation, policy awareness, women and youth inclusion, community engagement, promotion of party unity and electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The future of our party and our nation depends greatly on our collective efforts. Together, we can ensure that the achievements of today translate into a brighter tomorrow for all Nigerians,” she said.
She urged women to deepen participation in the movement, saying: “Women remain the backbone of every successful political movement.” We are mothers, nurturers, mobilisers, community builders, and agents of change.”
“As we inaugurate the Tinubu Torchbearers today, let this occasion ignite renewed passion, greater commitment, and stronger determination to advance the ideals of good governance, inclusive development, and national progress,” she stated.
The inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB) was performed by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to deepen grassroots mobilisation, sensitisation and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), with structures across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.
The inauguration attracted a large gathering of political leaders and stakeholders, including the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima; the wife of the President of the Senate, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio; the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Abas Tajudeen; the wife of the Deputy Speaker, Hajiya Laila Barau; wives of governors; ministers; members of the APC National Working Committee led by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Benjamin Nwoye; and delegates and stakeholders drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
