The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), have been named Africa’s regional winner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Associate Member Women’s Team Performance of the Year Award.
The federation also received global recognition for its grassroots programmes and community engagement initiatives.

The NCF said the achievements reflected the dedication of players, coaches, administrators and stakeholders, who had continued to support cricket development in the country.
It added that the recognitions would further motivate the federation to intensify efforts in nurturing talent, promoting women’s cricket and strengthening grassroots programmes across Nigeria.

“The recognition followed the outstanding performances recorded by Nigeria’s women’s national cricket team during the year under review,” the NCF said in a statement.
“The award highlights the growth and rising profile of women’s cricket in Nigeria and across Africa.”
“In another milestone, Nigeria received global recognition through the ICC Criiio Cricket Festivals with Rexona initiative for expanding grassroots participation and promoting community engagement through cricket.”
“The initiative celebrated the country’s commitment to developing the game and creating memorable cricket experiences for communities nationwide,” the federation stated.
