NUJ FCT Chairman Grace Ike Receives Humanitarian Service Award

The chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, was honoured with the 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award by the church’s laity council.

Receiving the award in absentia, Comrade Ike expressed profound gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and dedicated the honour to God and all members of the NUJ FCT Council.

Speaking in an interview, she thanked the organisers for recognising her contributions and for identifying her for the prestigious award despite her absence. She noted that she does not take the recognition for granted.

“This is more than an award; it is a call to greater service.

I remain committed to serving humanity and advancing the journalism profession with humility, dedication and the grace of God.” Comrade Ike said.

The recognition adds to the growing list of honours bestowed on Comrade Ike in acknowledgement of her professional excellence in journalism and her commitment to humanitarian causes.

The award was received on her behalf by the Auditor of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
