Troops of Joint Task Force, North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA have recovered rustled livestock, arrested suspected bandits and restored public order during sustained operations across Kaduna State.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the operation involved coordinated actions by troops of Sector 1 against criminal elements.
Tue statment read tuat on 20 June 2026, troops responding to intelligence on cattle rustling activities engaged fleeing bandits, neutralised two suspects and recovered weapons, ammunition, stolen livestock and other items linked to the criminal operation.

It said the intervention disrupted the rustling attempt, although a civilian was reported killed during the incident.
“In another operation the same day, troops intercepted two suspected bandits during a night patrol and recovered digital materials allegedly linking them to terrorist and bandit activities. The suspects are currently undergoing investigation.
“Troops also apprehended two suspected bandit scouts during a fighting patrol on 21 June 2026 after armed criminals retreated under pressure. Recovered items included motorcycles, communication devices and other materials connected to ongoing investigations,” the statment read.
In a separate operation, troops restored calm in Mararraba community following a violent disturbance after the killing of a female suspect accused of child trafficking.
Dispersed Mob
The troops dispersed the mob, secured critical infrastructure and reopened movement along a major highway after the situation threatened public order.
The Theatre Commander commended the troops’ vigilance and operational effectiveness, assuring residents that intelligence-driven operations against terrorists, bandits and criminal networks would continue across the region.
