The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye has formally presented Letters of Credence to newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners designated for Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, and Egypt.
The ceremony forms part of Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen its diplomatic presence and deepen bilateral relations with partner countries.
The presentation ceremony, held in Abuja, followed the receipt of official agrément from the host countries, signifying their acceptance of the Nigerian diplomats as principal representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, “the development forms part of the ongoing deployment of the 69 ambassadors appointed by President Bola Tinubu.”

The Ministry disclosed that “63 host countries have so far granted agreement to the Nigerian envoys assigned to them.”
It noted that approvals have also been received from key partner countries, including India and South Africa, while many of the ambassadors concerned have already departed for their respective duty posts to commence their assignments.

The Nigerian Government expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded in the diplomatic accreditation process, describing it as a reflection of Nigeria’s cordial relations with countries across different regions of the world.

The Ministry further expressed optimism that the remaining countries yet to communicate their decisions would soon convey acceptance of the ambassadors posted to their capitals, thereby enabling Nigeria to further deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen diplomatic ties.

The latest development is expected to enhance Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement and advance the country’s foreign policy objectives in strategic regions across Africa, the Caribbean, Asia and beyond.
