The First Female Presidential Candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, for the 2027 General Election, Mrs. Anita Chukwu says she will perioritse economic reforms, tackling insecurity, unemployment and reform the Nigerian justice system.
She emerged unopposed through consensus as the Sole presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP for the 2027 Presidential election in Nigeria.
The YPP National Women Leader was elected at YPP’s 3rd National Convention held in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital with the theme “Resetting A Better Future Now.”

Mrs. Chukwu reiterated that she will priorities “prosperity, economic reforms, tackling insecurity, unemployment and the Nigerian justice system” and will remain committed to YPP’s stability, growth, and success.
The National Chairman of the YPP, Mr. Bishop Amakiri, said the party remains focused on promoting competent leaders and that elected YPP officials uphold the mantra “Service to the People.”

He also noted the party was affected by the death of former senator Ifeanyi Ubah but rejected claims YPP lost relevance.
Mr. Amakiri further said that Anita’s emergence makes her one of the first female candidates to formally enter the 2027 race.
The YPP National Women Leader before becoming presidential candidate has been an active member of the party; emerged by consensus at the party’s 3rd National Convention in Abuja.
She’s been described as a grassroots mobilizer focused on youth and women.
