The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has welcomed the life sentence handed to the individual convicted of killing two young Nigerians, Chibueze Momah and Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe, in a nightclub shooting in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, in July 2022.
The Ontario Court of Justice sentenced the offender to life imprisonment without parole for 25 years after convicting him of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of unlawfully causing bodily harm.

In a statement by the Commission’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, NiDCOM described the judgment as a significant step towards justice and accountability, noting that while it cannot undo the loss suffered by the families, it offers some measure of closure.
