The Nigerian Government has restated its sworn intention to deliver critical road infrastructure that promotes economic growth, regional connectivity, national development, and integration.

President Bola Tinubu stated this when he flagged off construction work on Phase II of the Rehabilitation of Babban Lamba–Sharam Road in Plateau State, NorthNorth-Centraleria.

The President, who was represented by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, said the road was important as it links the North Central, North East, South East, and, by extension, the South-South zones of the country.

He described the project as a strategic investment that will drive economic growth, create jobs, boost tourism and culture, and strengthen regional integration.

The President further urged the contractor, Messrs Decency Associates (Nigeria) Limited, to ensure the project’s timely completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, who was honoured in Plateau State by the Nga Community, expressed gratitude to the people for the chieftaincy title.

The Minister, while highlighting the achievements of the government, said they were willing to accept constructive criticism and cautioned against unfounded attacks, noting that genuine criticism strengthens governance and promotes better service delivery.

The changing landscape of Nigeria’s road sector is a clear manifestation of a government that truly cares for the now and future of its citizens” Umahi said.
