First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for improved access to essential amenities for Nigerians, particularly women and children, as Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate World Population Day.
Mrs Tinubu gave the advice in her message to commemorate the 2026 World Population Day.
The First Lady said; “Today, on World Population Day 2026, I join the global community in support of our commitment to building a future where every individual, especially women and young people, have access to quality healthcare, education, and opportunities to reach their full potential.”
Mrs Tinubu solicited for investments in the lives of citizens as Nigeria’s population continues to increase.
She therefore called for collaboration by all stakeholders in order to secure the future of Nigerians.
“As Nigeria’s population continues to grow, we must increase investment in our greatest asset, our people.
“Through collective action, we can empower families, promote healthy lives, support our youth, and ensure sustainable development for generations to come,” she explained.
The First Lady encouraged all Nigerians to register and obtain a National Identity Number (NIN).
She said; “Accurate population data will enable the government to plan effectively and provide essential services for Nigeria’s growing population. Happy World Population Day.”
