APC Submits Tinubu-Shettima Ticket to INEC

Hauwa Gidado, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally submitted the nomination forms of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), confirming Shettima’s retention as the party’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The nomination documents were presented to APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda at the Abuja Continental Hotel by the President’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari, for onwards transmission to INEC.

The ceremony was attended by governors under the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), members of the National Assembly, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), and state party chairmen.

Speaking at the event, APC National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu described the submission as the culmination of a transparent primary process and urged party members to remain united ahead of the elections.

PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma reaffirmed the governors’ commitment to the Tinubu-Shettima ticket, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory in the presidential, governorship and legislative elections.

Receiving the nomination forms, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda said the ticket reflected the wishes of the party’s over 12 million verified members, citing the administration’s achievements in student loans, agriculture and infrastructure as reasons Nigerians should renew Tinubu’s mandate.

He urged party supporters to counter opposition criticism with facts, stressing that the APC’s nationwide digital membership register gives it a strategic advantage ahead of the 2027 polls.

APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka later confirmed that Senator Kashim Shettima remains the party’s vice-presidential candidate.

“We are presenting the best candidate, and come 2027, our victory is assured,” Yilwatda declared.
