The National Community Food Bank is designed to support vulnerable households, address malnutrition and promote community-based solutions to food insecurity. The initiative is being supervised by the Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, and a technical working committee.
The First Lady described the projects as evidence of Governor Ododo’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and strengthening public institutions across the state.
“These facilities will improve service delivery and the quality of life for Kogi residents. I urge the people to protect them and use them well,” she said.
The visit also featured the launch of an empowerment programme under the Renewed Hope Initiative, through which women received business grants and empowerment tools to support their livelihoods.

The First Lady urged beneficiaries to utilise the support effectively by expanding their businesses, improving their families’ welfare and contributing positively to their communities.
She also commended Sefinat Ododo for her efforts in promoting the welfare and economic empowerment of women in Kogi State.
Speaking at the event, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo thanked the First Lady for the visit and for supporting the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He pledged that his administration would ensure the sustainability of the newly commissioned facilities and continue to invest in projects that improve healthcare, infrastructure and social welfare across the state.
