Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening development cooperation with France in key sectors, including agriculture, renewable energy, water resources, environmental sustainability and education.
The Governor made the pledge during an event at the French Embassy in Abuja to commemorate France’s National Day.
A statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said Yusuf led a delegation of senior government officials to the ceremony.

During the event, the Governor conveyed the goodwill of the Government and people of Kano State to France and congratulated the country on its National Day celebration.
He also extended best wishes to the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier, and the people of France.
Yusuf described the relationship between Nigeria and France as a longstanding partnership that has contributed to economic cooperation, mutual understanding and sustainable development.
He stressed the need to deepen collaboration between Kano State and France in areas capable of driving economic growth and improving livelihoods.
According to the Governor, his administration remains committed to building international partnerships that can attract investment, promote innovation, strengthen public service delivery and improve the quality of life of residents.
He expressed optimism that enhanced engagement with France would create new opportunities for technology transfer, capacity building and sustainable economic development.
Yusuf added that Kano State is ready to work closely with France and other international partners on initiatives that deliver lasting socio-economic benefits to its people.
The Governor said stronger cooperation in strategic sectors would support the state’s broader development agenda and help position Kano as a destination for investment and international partnerships.
