The Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ilo, has reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with the Mushin Local Government Council while urging the council to encourage more youths to enrol in its vocational training programmes.
Air Vice Marshal Ilo gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area, Lagos State, Mr Tunbosun Aruwe.
Speaking during the visit, the Commandant highlighted the establishment and mandate of NAFRC and expressed appreciation for the cordial relationship that has existed between the Centre and the Mushin Local Government over the years.
He assured the council of NAFRC’s continued support in areas of mutual interest and urged the local government to mobilise more young people to benefit from the Centre’s vocational and entrepreneurial training programmes.
Air Vice Marshal Ilo also disclosed that the Centre is reviewing its curriculum and upgrading its technological training facilities to equip trainees with modern, industry-relevant skills that promote self-reliance and national development in line with global best practice.
He reaffirmed NAFRC’s commitment to youth empowerment and community service, while expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs for their continued support.
Responding, the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area, Mr Tunbosun Aruwe, commended the longstanding partnership between the council and NAFRC, describing it as instrumental to the development of the local community.
He acknowledged the Centre’s contributions through medical outreach programmes, security support, driver training initiatives and the donation of healthcare facilities to the council.
Aruwe thanked NAFRC for its unwavering support over the years and wished Air Vice Marshal Ilo a successful and impactful tenure as the 42nd Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre.
He expressed confidence that the strong relationship between both institutions would continue to flourish, delivering greater benefits to the people of Mushin and the wider community.
