Osun APC Candidate Prioritises Human Capital Development

Yinka Salaam, Osogbo

The Director-General of the Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Campaign Organisation, Oluwole Oke, says an All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Osun State would prioritise human capital development, infrastructure renewal and agriculture if the party wins the August 15 governorship election.

Oke made the pledge on Tuesday while addressing supporters at the APC governorship campaign rally in the Ede Federal Constituency.

He said an administration led by the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would pursue infrastructure development without neglecting key sectors such as education and healthcare.

According to Oke, public schools and primary healthcare centres across the state have deteriorated since 2022, affecting service delivery to residents.

He urged voters to support the APC candidate, describing Oyebamiji as a competent leader with a strong educational background and calling on residents to elect him as governor.

Priorities

Addressing party supporters, Oyebamiji pledged to provide good governance, improve infrastructure, promote agriculture, create jobs, and implement policies aimed at improving residents’ welfare.

He also urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and participate in the election, saying his administration would pursue inclusive development if elected.

“We are expecting a massive vote from Ede because we believe no part of Osun State is opposed to development, which the APC represents. Through our Prosperity Agenda, we are confident the people of Ede and other parts of the state will support our party on August 15,” he said.

Another APC chieftain, Dotun Babayemi also appealed to voters to back the party, saying an APC administration would deliver the dividends of good governance.

Srategic Voting

Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adejare Bello, called on residents of Ede to vote strategically, saying they should heed the advice of the town’s traditional ruler, the Timi of Ede, not to “put all their eggs in one basket.”

Bello expressed confidence that the voting pattern in Ede would exceed expectations and urged residents to support the APC at the polls.

Workers Welfare

Meanwhike, speaking at a separate APC rally in Ila, the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, said an APC administration under Oyebamiji would prioritise the welfare of civil servants, strengthen agriculture and invest in education, healthcare and security.

Basiru described Oyebamiji as possessing the experience and economic expertise required to drive development in Osun State.

“Reports have shown that what states received has increased tremendously, and even the Osun State Government has acknowledged the improvement in allocations. That is why we are endorsing AMBO.

“He understands governance, business, and the economy, and we believe he will use these resources to build a better future for our children.”

He said increased allocations to states provided an opportunity to improve public services and expressed confidence that an APC government would use available resources to enhance development across the state.

“Our civil servants deserve better welfare because they remain the engine of government. AMBO will also support our farmers to produce more and create opportunities for their agricultural products to reach wider markets, bringing greater financial rewards to them.”

Basiru also pledged greater support for farmers to increase agricultural production and improve market access, saying a stronger agricultural sector would boost rural development, create jobs, and strengthen the state’s economy.
