The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commended members of the Kwara State Association of Nigeria North America (KSANG) for serving as worthy ambassadors of the state and urged them to strengthen collaboration with the government to accelerate development.
The Governor made the call at the 10th National Convention of KSANG in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, where he was represented by a former Kwara State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin.
Addressing Kwarans from across North America, AbdulRazaq praised the association for promoting the image of the state through professional excellence, philanthropy and support for communities back home.
He said; “the state government valued the contributions of the diaspora and looked forward to deeper partnerships in advancing development across Kwara.’
The Governor noted that despite prevailing security challenges in parts of the country, his administration remained committed to protecting lives and property while implementing policies aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, social investment and institutional reforms.
According to him, “the government’s interventions are laying the foundation for sustainable growth and economic prosperity, with significant investments made in road infrastructure, education and healthcare.”
Governor AbdulRazaq also urged members of the association to remain united, stressing that “a cohesive diaspora community would be better positioned to contribute to the state’s development.”
In his remarks, KSANG National President, Dr Gboyega Abdulkadir, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting development initiatives in Kwara State through programmes in education, healthcare and humanitarian services.
He said; “the association had continued to promote unity among Kwarans in North America while contributing to community development through scholarship schemes, medical outreach and other interventions.”
The convention, attended by the Kwara indigenes from across North America, had as its theme: “One People, One Vision: Strengthening Our Roots, Building Our Future.”
