Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Sierra Leone, Ambassador Ayo Luther-Ogbomode, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening trade and economic relations with Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Luther-Ogbomode made the commitment at the opening ceremony of the maiden Nigeria Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, said the trade fair was officially opened by Sierra Leone’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Alpha Ibrahim Sesay.

Ebienfa said Sesay underscored the shared commitment of both countries to promoting trade, investment and private sector development.

The event brought together government officials, business leaders and entrepreneurs from both countries to explore new opportunities for commercial partnerships and economic cooperation.

It also provided a platform for showcasing Nigerian products and services while fostering stronger business-to-business engagements.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Luther-Ogbomode reaffirmed the Nigerian High Commission’s support for initiatives that promote economic diplomacy and deepen bilateral trade relations between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The High Commissioner noted that the maiden trade fair reflected the enduring friendship between the two countries and would encourage greater collaboration between their private sectors, expand investment opportunities and further strengthen longstanding economic and bilateral ties.
