Tunde Akanbi, Ilorin

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed his commitment to professionalism, justice and respect for fundamental human rights in the discharge of his duties.

Jimoh made the commitment when he received the National President of the Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), and other members of the union on a courtesy visit to the Zonal Headquarters.

The visit was aimed at appreciating the AIG, a prominent son of Ilorin, for his distinguished career, professionalism and contributions to national service.

Speaking during the visit, AbdulMalik commended Jimoh for his contributions to the development of Ilorin and his leadership in promoting peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States.

He described the AIG as a disciplined, principled and dutiful officer whose conduct reflects good character, integrity and responsible citizenship.

According to him, these attributes are in line with the values promoted by Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State, where Jimoh received his secondary education.

The IEDPU president said the school, established by the union, places emphasis not only on academic excellence but also on moral discipline, good virtues and responsible citizenship.

He expressed confidence that Jimoh would continue to discharge his responsibilities with diligence and integrity while upholding the rule of law.

Responding, Jimoh thanked the IEDPU leadership and members for the visit, describing their gesture as an honour and a reminder of the responsibilities associated with public service.

He acknowledged the union’s longstanding support and interest in his career, stressing that such encouragement would further strengthen his resolve to serve diligently.

The AIG pledged to uphold the rule of law and ensure that justice is pursued without fear or favour, irrespective of an individual’s social status, position or class.

He added that Zone 2 Headquarters would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to safeguard lives and property, maintain public order and create a safe and secure environment for residents of Lagos and Ogun States.
