Tunisia’s President, Kais Saied and Germany’s Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul have held talks in Tunis on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and regional developments, amid growing global security and economic challenges.
President Saied called on the European Union (EU) to establish a more balanced and fair partnership with Tunisia.
Wadephul said Germany and the EU would remain “reliable friends and partners” of Tunisia, stressing the importance of international cooperation in addressing global crises.

The two countries also signed financing agreements worth nearly 100 million euros and pledged to deepen cooperation in several areas.
Wadephul said development cooperation would focus particularly on the energy transition, water management and digitalisation.
He expressed confidence that the agreements and continued dialogue would further strengthen relations between Germany and Tunisia.
