The Ebonyi State Government has urged residents to disregard what it described as negative narratives and protests against the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Ikeuwa Omebeh, made the call in a statement issued in Abakaliki.
Omebeh acknowledged the constitutional right to peaceful protest but cautioned against actions capable of creating tension in the state.
He said the administration remained focused on implementing its development agenda, particularly in infrastructure, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, rural development and human capital development.
The Commissioner urged residents to assess the government based on its achievements rather than what he described as political propaganda.
He also called on youths to resist being used to advance interests that could undermine the collective interest of the state.
Omebeh assured that the Nwifuru administration remained committed to delivering on its mandate and called for unity, constructive engagement and development-focused criticism.
