Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, for an official visit to Anambra State to launch the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East.
Oluremi Tinubu was received at the airport by Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, and other senior government officials.
The First Lady’s visit includes the launch of the Nigerian Government’s National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East, scheduled to take place at the Old Government House.

The programme is targeted at vulnerable groups, including widows, older persons, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers and children. It will also provide nutrition education and agricultural support.
As part of her engagements, the First Lady is expected to commission an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
The centre will provide training in software development, data analysis, digital marketing and other digital skills.

Oluremi Tinubu is also expected to participate in the flag-off of an empowerment programme targeting 5,000 beneficiaries across Anambra State’s 21 local government areas.
The programme, led by the Anambra State First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo, is scheduled to take place at Ekwueme Square in Awka.
