Prince Harry Makes First Public Appearance Since UK Return

Britain’s Prince Harry made his first public appearance on Thursday since returning to the United Kingdom with his wife, Meghan, after six years in California.

Harry, the younger son of King Charles, returned to Britain last month with Meghan and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

The prince attended the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards in London, which are linked to the Invictus Games, the sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military veterans that he founded.

Earlier on Thursday, Harry spoke at an event focused on improving care for children wounded in conflicts, hosted by charity Save the Children and Imperial College London.

His appearances came on a busy day for the British royal family, with King Charles hosting a conference for artificial intelligence leaders.

The King is also facing criticism in a forthcoming book by Charles Spencer, the brother of his late first wife, Diana. The book is being serialised by the Daily Mail.

In the latest extracts published on Thursday, Spencer wrote that King Charles sounded “like a lottery winner” following Diana’s death.
