Faith-based Nollywood movie Agbara Nla: The Return has generated more than #71 million from single-day preview screenings.
According to the Nigerian Box Office, the film attracted 12,134 admissions and earned ₦70 million during its preview screenings held from September 25 to October 1.
The box office tracking platform described the performance as the highest single-day preview gross ever recorded in West Africa, ranking the movie first for the period. It also reported that the film recorded the biggest first-day admissions and highest first-day gross for a Nollywood movie in 2026.

In addition, Agbara NIa: The Return now holds the biggest single-day gross in October so far. Its distributor, The Nile Entertainment, also confirmed the achievement, calling it the biggest faith-based opening of all time and the week’s number-one film.
The distributor said the movie’s return had made history, adding that its earnings had surpassed #71 million and were still increasing.
The film is currently showing in cinemas across Nigeria, arriving 33 years after the release of the original movie.
Agbara Nia: The Return is a contemporary remake of the 1993 classic created by Christian filmmaker Mike Bamiloye, which was later released in English as The Ultimate Power in 1994.
The story follows Muwonleru, a village under the control of the influential herbalist Isawuru. Two Christians, Olaboye and Olatomi, leave the city to spread the gospel in the community, leading to a confrontation between Christian faith and traditional spiritual authority.
Mike Bamiloye reprises his role as Isawuru, while Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Bamiloye serve as directors. The cast also features Aanu Kolade Abiodun, Remilekun Mosiko, Philip Olubakin, Gloria Mike-Bamiloye, and David Kola Okeowo.
