Gombe approves contract funds for 1st phase construction of Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park 

The Gombe State Executive Council has approved the sum of sixteen billion, four hundred and fourty-five million, twenty nine thousand six hundred as contract sum for the construction of phase 1 of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr Julius Ishaya Lepez, said this after briefing journalists in Gombe shortly after the State Executive Council meeting, presided by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The Commissioner of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Mr. Nasiru Mohammed, said the 1st Phase of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park would consist of an Administrative Block, other infrastructural needs, such roads and drainages, water supply storage and distribution,  Electricity supply, among others.

He explains that 1st Phase of the Industrial complex was expected to be completed within 32 weeks from the day of the foundation laying.

According to him, the multi billion naira Industrial Park, estimated to provide over 5 thousand direct and indirect jobs, and it would also attract high profile companies to the State.

GOGIS PHASE TWO 

The Gombe State Executive Council equally approved the sum of one billion, nine hundred and seventy nine million, thirteen thousand, six hundred and forty naira for the implementation of the Gombe Geological Information System GOGIS phase 11.

The State Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Mr. Jahun Biri, said the implementation of GOGIS phase 11 project would take the form of a geospatial mapping and data collection that could be used for planning, tracing of real time crime and tracking, as well as the detection of minerals resources.

COMPENSATION OF VICTIMS OF BILLIRI CRISIS 

On compensation for victims of the Billiri crisis, the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy AFFAIRS, Mr. Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo Waziri, said the council had approved the sum of five hundred ninety one million, five hundred and fifty thousand as compensation for victims of the unrest.

Mr. Waziri said Billiri Local Government Area is expected to pay 80 percent of the approved sum, which translates into four hundred and seventy three million, two hundred thousand, while the state government would bear the cost of the remaining 20 percent, which is one hundred and eighteen million naira.

Medium Term Expenditure Framework MTEF 

The Commissioner of Finance, Mr. Mohammad Gambo Magaji, said the

Medium Term Expenditure Framework MTEF, which covers 2022 to 2024, was submitted to the Council for onward transmission to the State House of Assembly for Legislation.

“The MTEF is a document which contains our economic and physical update the EFU the Fiscal Strategy Paper FSP the Budget Policy Statement BPS 2022‐2024 which provides economic and fiscal analysis for which our normal annual budget are derived so this document is very important is part of our budgeting process and Council has approved that it should be transmitted to the State House of Assembly for onward legislation before we go ahead to present the 2022 Appropriation Bill to the House later in the year,” said Mr. Magaji.

The Commissioner equally disclosed that the Gombe State Revenue Optimisation Company, GROCOL, would provide the fund for the construction of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park Phase 1 and the implementation of the Gombe Geological Information System GOGIS phase ll.

The State Executive Council meeting equally approved the sum of Nine hundred and fifty million six hundred and forty seven thousand Nine hundred and eighty naira for the maintenance of the Gombe Regional Water Scheme for the year 2020.
