Nigerian Army seeks development of modern equipment for service delivery

The Nigeria Army has called for the development of modern equipment for effective service delivery in the military.

The Director, Production Command Engineering Depot, Brigadier General Chima Abraham Ekeator, stated this during the closing ceremony of TRADOC Nigeria Army Research and Development Conference 2021 held in Minna, Niger state North Central Nigeria.

Brigadier General Abraham Ekeator, who presented a paper title “Modernizing Nigerian army equipment” stressed the need for the use of updated and sophisticated equipment within the Military circle in the country.

Over the years it has been proven countless time that Nigerian army troops have never been found wanting, they are always courageous   and willing to fight at any given time “added Brig Gen Ekeator

The director production command depot of the Nigerian army who further emphasized on the use of Insufficient and obsolete equipment as one of the greatest contemporary challenge facing the Military in the country, suggested that  the efforts  of the Military  towards modernizing its equipment through Research and development will not only help to produce needed equipment in sufficient quantity but would also  upgrade obsolete ones needed for various  operations.

The Nigerian  Chief of Army staff, Major General Faruk Yahaya, represented at the event by the the TRADOC Commander, Major General Stevenson  Olugbenga Olabanji  commended  the participants  for their  various contributions  during the 3 day conference  on research and development.

The Army Chief further mentioned that the Military will definitely  look at various  suggestions  for possible  implementation   to accomplish desired targets.

‘We had a very eventful 3 days of intellectual discourse and pragmatic solutions to some of the problems confronting the Nigeria Army in the aspect of research and development’

The Niger State head of service , Hajia  Salamatu Abubakar who was the guest of honour  at the closing ceremony of the TRADOC Nigerian Army research  and development  conference  2021, emphasized on the need for maintenance culture and encouragement  of officers  and men of  the Nigerian Army especially  on the aspect of research and development.

Officers and soldiers from various  formation of the Nigerian Army, other security  agencies, academics from  civil institutions in the country deliberated during the 3 days  conference with a view of articulating  strategies that would assist the Nigerian army in its research and development efforts especially in the present contemporaries period .

The Nigerian Chief of  army staff  Lt General  Faruk Yahya earlier  during the opening of the 3 days Conference , reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army in collaborating with renowned research based institutions  towards realizing the noble objective of producing the required military hardware in the country.

Various  Military  equipment  manufactured in the country  where exhibited  by the  Command engineering  depot of the Nigerian  Army,  Defence  industries  corporation (DIC). Nigerian Defence academy and Federal  University  of Technology  Minna  Niger  state among others. View pictures below:
