The Force Commander (FC), Multinational Joint Task Force, (MNJTF), Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim has reassured troops of reinforcement of their operational capacities.
General Khalifah said they would be empowered with equipment and other essential materials to improve surveillance and tactical manoeuvre in the fields.
He also reminded them that operations is the best test of a troop’s fighting spirit which requires good training and physical skills.
General Khalifah stated this as he continued his familiarisation and operational tour to troops’ locations, at Forward Operating Base, Mallam FATORI and Headquarters 5 Brigade at Damasak in Sector 3 respectively.
Dislodging their camps
According to a statement by the Chief of Military Public Information, Headquarters MNJTF, N’DJAMENA CHA, Colonel Mohammed Dole, General Khalifah congratulated the troops for their operational successes by dislodging their camps and denying the terrorists’ freedom of action within their areas of operations.
The visit which was aimed at getting first hand information and current reality of situations in the field.
The Commander reiterated his call to the troops on the misuse of social media which does more harm than good and could be used as a source of intelligence to the terrorists on the activities and movements of the troops.
He was however impressed with the conduct of discipline and display of determination by the troops to fight Boko Haram terrorists.
General Khalifah urged them to remain on high alert and cautiousness to end BHT/ISWAP terrorism.
General Khalifah equally commended the conduct and content of the briefings he received which covered operational activities, achievements and challenges of both FOB Mallam Fatori and HQ 5 Brigade Damasak.
These formation and unit according to the statement have significantly and progressively won several tactical victories against the BHT/ISWAP insurgents in their previous encounters.
He said that paved the way for the resettlement and relocation of Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees to their ancestral homes.
General Abdul Khalifah was accompanied by some Staff Officers from HQ MNJTF and Commander MNJTF Sector 3, Brigadier General GM Mutkut, commended the conduct and content of the briefings he received which covered operational activities, achievements and challenges of both FOB Mallam Fatori and HQ 5 Brigade Damasak.
