Nigeria has recorded 1,444 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of persons who have tested positive in the country to 110,387.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this via its official Twitter handle.
According to the tweet, the 1,444 new cases were from 21 states. Lagos reported the highest number of cases with 901new cases while the Plateau was second with 136 and Anambra State had the lowest with 2 new cases.

The NCDC also twitted that as of 17 January, 110,387cases had been confirmed, 89,317 cases treated and discharged, while 1,435 deaths were recorded.
