AMAC commences Social Public Works Programme

The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Candido has called on beneficiaries of the Federal government Social Public Work Programme to utilize the opportunity and see it as a great chance for service to nation and to humanity.

The Chairman made the call while flagging off the exercise for the Area Council in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.

While thanking the Federal Government for creating an enabling environment for the programme, Candido noted that the gesture will go a long way in addressing idleness among the youths thereby providing an avenue for Nigerian citizen to participate in building the Nations.

The project which was to be carried out in 774 Local Government of Nigeria was meant for 1,000 citizens in each of the local councils.

Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) was divided into two zones for the flag-off.

Six wards converged on Garki ward, while another six wards converged on Nyanya ward Abuja for the AMAC flag-off.

Beneficiaries will be classified into different categories of works which includes: Road Traffic, Environmental Sanitation/Cleanness, Agricultural activities and other useful programmes that have a positive impact on humanity.
