Amusa Shines As Nigeria Beats Malawi In Kigali

Kehinde Amusa shines again as Nigeria beat Malawi by 46 runs to record their fourth win at the ongoing Kwibuka Women’s Cricket tournament in Kigali, Rwanda. Malawi won the toss and opted to field at the Gahanga A Cricket oval on Tuesday.

Nigeria set 107 all out in 19.3 overs against Malawi, batting contributions from Lilian Ude 21 runs off 16 balls, Eguakun Omosigo’s 19 runs off 21 balls and Amusa’s 16 off 25 balls.

In the chase, Amusa, who was Player of the Match (POTM) in two consecutive games, put up another impressive performance with the ball, a spell of 4-0-18-4 to restrict the batting strength of Malawi.

Malawi finished with 61 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs as Nigeria secured their fourth win in seven games with Amusa picking a third POTM award.

Nigeria will play Uganda women on Wednesday. A total of nine teams are currently taking part in the tournament which is in commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
