The Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has felicitated with the people of Anambra State on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.

The PDP’s felicitation was contained in a press release signed by the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu.

He noted that Anambra people have every reason to celebrate as Anambra State has demonstrated over time to be the Light of the Nation indeed.

The PDP saluted the individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the growth and development of Anambra State since inception.

Nwangwu however noted that the APGA-controlled government in the state has taken shine off the celebration of the 30th anniversary due to visionless and rudderless governance which has led to infrastructure decay.

“The APGA-controlled government under the leadership of Chief Willie Obiano has taken the state backwards in every ramification. Almost all the roads in Anambra under the APGA watch have become death-traps.

“The government of APGA has nothing to show for all the years it has occupied the Awka seat of government,” he said.

Nwangwu noted that PDP and her candidate in the November 6 Anambra State governorship election, Mr Valentine Ozigbo will make people of Anambra smile again.

“We realise the enormity of work to be done after taking over from the APGA-controlled government. We are happy that PDP has a very good man, Mr Valentine Ozigbo as our candidate in the gubernatorial election who is passionately committed to giving the state a five-star governance,” he added.

The PDP image maker applauded the good people of the state for their continued support for PDP which according to him would translate to landslide victory for Mr Valentine Ozigbo on November 6.

In the same vein, the PDP flag-bearer in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo, has congratulated the people of Anambra State on the state’s 30th anniversary, assuring of his readiness to lead Anambra state into her next decade.

In a statement issued from his Udoka Housing Estate Campaign Office, Awka, on Friday, August 27, 2021, Ozigbo expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for “his many mercies to our dear state”. The business mogul also expressed optimism about the future of the state.

Ozigbo, a grassroots favourite in the race for the governorship, applauded Anambra’s past leaders for their contribution to developing the south-eastern state. He stressed the urgent need for purposeful, visionary, and competent leadership in the state.

According to Ozigbo, he is running for the governorship of the state because he believes in the god-given capacities and potentials of Anambra to rule the world. He also declared that he believes that he has “the right combination of competency, capacity, and character to lead the state into a bright new future”.

“My vision for Anambra is clear; that our light will shine, and in shining, we shine brighter than any one of us can imagine,” Ozigbo said.

“In the past thirty years, we have recorded remarkable events in the history of our dear state. We have had setbacks and great wins too. In all, we have recorded progress as individuals and as a people.

“Everywhere you look – in business, academia, sports, entertainment, technology, philanthropy, healthcare, governance – Anambra has produced exceptional leaders who have made an indelible impact on humanity. I congratulate all of us, people of Anambra, for our resilience and our achievements.”, he added.
With its capital in Awka, Anambra is one of the nine states created on August 27, 1991, by the administration of former military President Ibrahim Babangida. The state was carved out of the old Anambra State, which included what is now Enugu State.
