APC’s Umar Namadi wins Jigawa state Guber election

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared Alhaji Umar Namadi of APC as Governor-elect in jIgawa state.

The Returning officer of the Commission in the State, Professor Muhammad Zayyanu declared Alhaji Umar Namadi the winner with the highest votes cast of 618,449 to defeat ten other contestants from ten Political Parties.

7 Mustapha Sule Lamido of PDP got 368,726 votes

8 Adamu Kaugama of PRP scored 549 votes

9 Ibrahim Bello SDP polled 706 votes

10 Aminu Hassan of NRM got 948 votes

The defeating votes difference between the APC and PDP is 1,738 votes which is less than the votes of the 7 polling units cancelled which is 3,473 votes.

Arising from the above, the result is declared inconclusive because of the cancellation of the unit 7 Polling unit due to over-voting.
