CEDAR Farmers’ Business School Gives Guidance To Oyo Farmers

FARMERS from all the local government areas in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State have received guidance on ways to make their business flourish.

The school, recently organised a seminar in Saki, where the farmers were tutored on how best to go about their farming business.

A good number of agriculture experts were available to do justice to the topics of discourse among who was the Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Abdulateef Idowu Oyeleke, who spoke on the topic:”Agribusiness: Forest Land For Agriculture Purpose”.

Oyeleke, told the farmers that there are land available in the Oke-Ogun area for farming, stating that the government is ready to give out the land to farmers who would be willing to fulfill all requirements to take possession of the land.

He said the government is doing this to ensure that food security is guaranteed in the state and for the farmers to get good returns after harvest so that they too can contribute meaningfully to the economy.

Project Consultant, CEDAR Farmers’ Business School, Dr Idowu Adewumi, told the Nigerian Tribune that the sole aim of the seminar was to guide the farmers on how to manage risks on their farms and also how they can secure loans from available financial institutions.

He also assured the farmers that the school would be bringing more of the seminar to them, while informing them that the school would take a look at their request for bringing the school closer to them.
