COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 727 new cases, seven deaths

Nigeria has confirmed 727 cases of the deadly coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC confirmed the cases on Thursday night via its official website.

The NCDC also noted that seven COVID related deaths were recorded in the country

NCDC noted that the 727 new cases are reported from 18 States- “Rivers (257), Lagos (157), Edo (85), Imo (63), FCT (33), Delta (28), Kaduna (27), Benue (17), Akwa Ibom (13), Ekiti (13), Taraba (12), Bayelsa (5), Kano (4), Ogun (4), Oyo (3), Abia (2), Nasarawa (2) and Plateau (2)

“Today’s report includes: Positive (12) cases for Taraba state are for 7th September 2021, Cases for Edo state are backlogs from 7th, 8th and 9th September 2021, 0 cases from Ondo, Osun and Sokoto States,” the NCDC explained.

These latest figures bring the total number of confirmed cases to 197,773  with 185,597 discharged and 2,585 deaths.
