The Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC in Cross Rivers state, Bassey Otu has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission for improved performance.

He gave the commendation in Odupani Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Otu said that more voters came out to vote in the state as he noted that the only area some people complained about were in Akpabuyo and Bakassi areas.

The issue we have in Bakassi where Nigerians have been declared refugees in their own country because their land was ceded and handed illegally, people are scattered all over and because they’re registered in Bakassi there’s need for them to come from their different locations to go and exercise their franchise,” he said.

The gubernatorial Candidate of APC, further said that he has full confidence in the BVAS, that INEC is using for the election.

INEC must also be given benefit of doubt to continue to make sure that they perfect all their arrangements, there were issues with the BVAS but I don’t think that those issues should be key issues in giving judgement,” he stated.

The APC Candidate said that he believes that INEC would continue to scale up with technology and logistics.
