Veteran Nigerian broadcaster and media personality Daddy Freeze has officially joined The Honest Bunch Podcast as a co-host, following the exit of comedian and radio personality Nedu Wazobia.
The announcement was made on Sunday via the podcast’s official Instagram account, which introduced Daddy Freeze with the caption: “Get ready for hotter takes, deeper convos, and unapologetic honesty. Say hello to our latest addition @daddyfreeze.”
Daddy Freeze, whose real name is Ifedayo Olarinde, also confirmed the news on his platform, writing: “A new era has begun.”
Well-known for its candid discussions on relationships, Nigerian society, and pop culture, The Honest Bunch Podcast has become one of the most-watched digital talk shows in the country. Daddy Freeze’s inclusion is seen as a strategic effort to sustain the podcast’s popularity and attract a broader, more critically engaged audience.
Although the podcast has not officially explained the reason behind Nedu’s departure, it comes amid controversy, including a recent public dispute with social media critic and activist, VeryDarkMan, who accused the show of promoting toxic narratives. Some observers online have speculated that the backlash may have contributed to Nedu’s decision to step down.
Nedu, however, addressed the issue in a video statement, clarifying that his exit was voluntary: “I took the decision to leave because of my family. I don’t want to put them through unnecessary drama.”
