The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Olufemi Abaniwonda, has deployed a tactical team of operatives for intelligence-led investigations as part of ongoing measures to strengthen internal security across the state.

A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Bright Edafe, said the operatives were mandated to collaborate with other commands across state lines to enhance the effectiveness of ongoing operations.

Edafe explained that the operatives, who have since swung into action, were already recording successes in foiling attempted criminal activities.

“The Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda, directed operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) to carry out intelligence-led investigations and ensure that bad elements are arrested and brought to justice.

“In compliance with this directive, the team, led by the commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police Julius Robinson, extended the investigation to Rivers and Imo State Commands and made positive impacts,” the PPRO disclosed

Edafe said the police commissioner directed the team to sustain the tempo of investigation, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency collaboration.

“The Commissioner warned youths to desist from anti-social activities and avoid economic sabotage. He urged them to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the best alternative for wealth creation,” Edafe stated.
