Elizabeth Anyanacho Heads To Dakar For Africa Taekwondo Championship

Tokyo Olympics bound Elizabeth Anyanacho has taken off to Dakar, Senegal for the forthcoming Africa Taekwondo Championships.

The 2021 Championship will hold from 5th to 6th June at the Dakar Arena.

Anyanacho left aboard Air Cote D’Ivoire in company of African Champion, Chinazum Nwosu, Olympic medalist Chika Chukwumerije, her sparring partner and physiotherapist.

The tournament is the last major ranked event before Elizabeth competes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Elizabeth Anyanacho, 22, is a 300-level Statistics student at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), and she will become the second ever female to qualify for the Olympics in Taekwondo after Princess Dudu at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
